This ring is a 925 Sterling Silver setting featuring an emerald green spinel. The spinel is approximately 2.1 carats and is cabochon-cut. From my research, this ring was given to Burlington Northern Railroad workers for 10 years of service in the 1970’s-1980’s and was made by a company in Minnesota. This ring has some wear, as it was worn by the owner, and the silver has some patina. It could be polished up if that is the look you desire. It is slightly over size 8.75 (see photos) and weighs 14.2 grams. This is great historical piece and would be a great gift for any railroad memorabilia collectors in your life.
